Miep Vrins - Otten

works at the Red Cross and lives at Bezuidenhout in The Hague.

Her husband Hans Vrins is in German captivity. She helps several Englanders, including her younger brother.

On March 3, 1945, the British want to attack the dangerous German V2 rockets in the nearby Haagse Bos (wood of The Hague). But that goes wrong, the Allies' bombs fall on the Bezuidenhout residential area. There are more than 500 dead.

Miep is one of them, killed by bomb fragments in her back. She is 32 years old at the time.
